Some of our little bunch of knitters went to the Cowane Centre in Stirling to attend a St Andrews Day knitting workshop hosted by Carol Meldrum. We sat and knitted four rectangles of cable pattern, picking up stitches and piecing them together as we knit. Next we were meant to turn it into a little bag/pencil case by picking up stitches, knitting a front in stocking stitch then folding the top two rectangles over to form the flap. We just didn't have enough time!
I managed to finish my four rectangles and brought wool home to finish it off. At the workshop, Carol talked about felted flower pots and I instantly remembered I hadn't posted the pictures of my own felted pots on here. When I got home, gone visiting, returned and had tea, I sat down to finish the little project off as I knew it would remain unfinished if I didn't. I decided to change the final construction of the piece by folding it in from the corners, adding some edging then felting the whole thing.
It has turned into a very fluffy case for my minute scissors (O where, o where have my black handled lovelies gone?)
All in all a grand day was had by me...... Kate, Carol, Cath, Wendy, Lorna and Collette can speak for themselves over on our group blog www.oorwoollie.wordpress.com . Come on over, give us a visit and leave a comment. It will be very much appreciated.
